Big Hog Friendly Litter Pick Challenge

Big Hog friendly litter pick Challenge Square

What is the Big Hog Friendly Litter Pick Challenge

Hedgehogs are covered in thousands of spines, making them vulnerable to becoming trapped in litter. Unfortunately, many hedgehogs die every year because of this.

Taking part in the Big Friendly Litter Pick Challenge will clean up your community and save lots of animals.

Litter can be collected on your street at home, at a local park, on a lunchtime walk – not just on campus. Anyone can take part; staff, students, members of the local community etc. The university, FE college and primary school who collect the most bags of litter by the end of the challenge will win their category. You should use bin bags to collect your litter, but if you’re using other bags then we’ll account for this in the judging. One full bin bag will be equal to 3 supermarket shopping bags, for example.

E-mail photos of your full bags of litter to Hannah.constantin@nottingham.ac.uk on or before 2 December.
