Last Wednesday 28th March, the eight computer science students who took part in the University of Nottingham’s student IT Community Consultancy Project gave presentations of their work over the last 6 months. The project was a partnership with the Careers and Employability Service, Community Partnerships, the School of Computer Science and Accenture. The students were involved in projects that gave them valuable work experience and the chance to make a difference to the local community. The students worked in pairs to help improve a local charity’s performance – from improving existing systems to piloting new and innovative schemes. Accenture’s sponsorship provided each participating student with a grant of £500.
The students and charities they were involved in are as follows:
The Renewal Trust: Uzor Anene (MSc) and Minesh Mandalia (2nd year) Women's Integrated Services: Timothy Belfield (4th year) and Krischan Newell-Büll (3rd year) Playworks: Ali Jahanshahi (2nd year) and Tuong Manh Vu (MSc) HLG: Vaidas Jarusevicius (1st year) and Niall O'Dwyer (3rd year)
Well done to everyone.
