New BBSRC Network Grant

A multidisciplinary group of scientists from the Universities of Nottingham, Sheffield, Warwick, Aberystwyth and the Rothamstead Research Centre have been awarded a Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) grant to establish a national Plant Phenotyping Network (UKPPN). Plant phenomics is a rapidly growing research area. It is concerned with the development of the technology and methods needed to make quantitative measurements of large numbers of plants at high speed and with minimal human involvement. The network aims to develop a UK community focused on plant phenotyping, and to provide a platform from which to project an international presence.

UKPPN will be co-Chaired by Prof John Doonan (Aberystwyth) and Dr Tony Pridmore (Nottingham)
