Scholar In Focus: Emily Sweeney

The new academic term at the University of Nottingham has seen many new students enrol at the University and that has also seen a new scholar cohort begin their dual-careers with the #GreenandGold. One of those athletes to recently begin studying alongside their high performance sporting programme is Emily Sweeney. Emily recently competed at the Commonwealth Games in her sport of weightlifting, and is hoping to continue to progress towards future games whilst also achieving in her Criminology BA degree.

We are delighted to announce that our award-winning Headliner series with RedBull returns for the 2022/23 season! In our first event of the year, our Men's and Women's Hockey teams take on the University of Bath in BUCS action on Wednesday 9 November.With back to back matches of top-level university hockey, the Headliner is sure to return with plenty of excitement and action and we cannot wait.

Description
At the University of Nottingham Sport, we are continually investing into our sporting infrastructure. Our vision for sport is ambitious, with a £40m Sports Village and substantial support of the coaching and development of our 70+ sports clubs and 120+ active teams. As a result we are hugely proud of our sporting success, regularly placing in the top three of the overall BUCS standings, as well as being named Sports University of the Year for both 2019 and 2021. We are currently recruiting for numerous Head Coach roles to help continue to develop our programme.

Tin-Tin Ho wins prestigious TASS Athlete of the Year Award

Congratulations to University of Nottingham Table Tennis star Tin-Tin Ho on winning the 2022 TASS (Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme) Athlete of the Year award! After being nominated amongst three other notable UK university athletes, Tin-Tin was announced as the winner of the award on 4 August.
