Description: This week we were tremendously proud to posthumously induct Sir Denis Follows CBE into our University of Nottingham Sport Hall of Fame. Sir Denis was honoured at our annual Sporting Excellence Awards – our end of year celebration of our athlete's achievements this season. It was a great pleasure to be able to host Sir Denis' family at the event with Denis' daughter Margaret Ferris - another Nottingham alumnus - accepting the award on the evening.

Description: At the end of May, the University of Nottingham Boxing Club entered multiple boxers in the 2022 BUCS Boxing Championships. Held at the University of Wolverhampton with competition across many weight categories with eight athletes lacing up their gloves across the weekend for the #GreenandGold. Description: On June 5th, Olympic Triathlon champion Alistair Brownlee was scheduled to attempt to complete a long-distance triathlon in under seven hours. In his attempt to achieve this, Alistair will be joined by a long-time member of the #GreenandGold, Alex Pritchard. We caught up with Alex on his involvement as well as his time spent at the University of Nottingham.

Description: On the weekend of the 7 and 8 May, the University of Nottingham Canoe Polo club competed in the BUCS Canoe Polo Championship. The championships were hosted at the nearby National Watersports Centre at Holme Pierrepont, and the club entered a men's, women's and B team in the relevant competitions. Our men's team came into the championships as the reigning champions having claimed the title last year with a 3-1 win against Swansea.

Description: Top level professional squash returned to our all-glass court at David Ross Sports Village on Monday night, with the University of Nottingham Premier Squash League team taking on fellow university team Loughborough in the inaugural PSL Cup. The visitors came into the evening's contest looking to claim their first win as new entrants to Premier Squash League competition this year, having lost their first 3 matches of the initial league format.

Description: Rising UK American Football star Ayo Oyelola has switched the court room for the world's biggest sports stadiums, winning a professional contract within the National Football League (NFL). The University of Nottingham law graduate has been announced to the Jacksonville Jaguars NFL roster and will start training with the side later on this week following completion of medicals.

Description: The University of Nottingham Snowsports club took to the slope at the British University Indoor Slope Championships (BUISC) on Wednesday 13th April, just two days before their annual Easter ski trip. This would be the clubs national final following their Midlands regional qualifier back in November and took place in Milton Keynes. On a brilliant day of racing on the snow, our athletes pushed themselves to the limit in search of glory and were duly rewarded with more than one individual gold medal and a fantastic silver.

Description: Last month, the University of Nottingham Archery club ended their indoor season in superb style at the BUCS Archery Indoor Finals. At the event held in Coventry, the university had entrants across the disciplines of Recurve, Compound and Barebow, in both the men's and women's categories, and achieved brilliant success.
