British University Championships sees strong performances from UoN Powerlifters

Description
At the start of April, the 2022 British University Powerlifting Championships took place at Moulton College, with a strong contingent of University of Nottingham athletes competing across both men's and women's disciplines. Our athletes combined for a team score of 80 points to put University of Nottingham Powerlifting 1st among UK universities at this event.

Premier Squash League action returns to Nottingham

Description
On Monday 11 April, the University of Nottingham Premier Squash League team took to the show court at Nottingham Squash Rackets Club looking to win their second match of the tournament. After beating Pontefract 3-1 in the opening match of the competition, the team came into the evening looking to maintain their 100% record.

University of Nottingham students shine bright at All-Stars Series

Description
On Wednesday 6 April, the University of Nottingham BUCS teams played the star players of the 2021/22 IntraMural Sports (IMS) programme in the 2022 All-Stars Series. Now in its second year, the All-Stars Series is a one-day event where the top players from across IMS leagues take on a select team of club players in a series of fixtures which ran throughout the day at David Ross Sports Village and at Highfields.

Nottingham Knights celebrate their most successful season to date

This season has been one of the University of Nottingham Cheerleading clubs most successful yet, with two teams and three competitions across the season. The Nottingham Knights have a Level 1 All Girl and Level 3 All Girl team who spent months preparing for their competitions which began in Term 2, and competed superbly at every event.

A trio of medals for the University of Nottingham at BUCS tennis championships

On the first weekend of April, the University of Nottingham had representatives in the BUCS Tennis Singles Championships Finals held at Loughborough University. Taking place over three days, the university entered the tournament with a strong chance of progressing well through the knockout format with the number one and three seeds in the men's singles draw, as well as the number two seed in the women's singles draw.

Handball club take silver in BUCS Championship competition

Description
On the last weekend of March, the BUCS Handball Championships finally returned their full format following a 2-year hiatus due to COVID-19. The competition was held in Kent, at Medway Park Sports Centre from Friday 25th March until Sunday 27th and the weekend was an overall success for University of Nottingham Handball with the men's 1st team bringing home a 2nd place finish nationally.

University of Nottingham Women's Hockey crowned 2022 BUCS Champions at BUCS Big Wednesday

University of Nottingham Women's Hockey beat Birmingham 1-0 to be crowned 2022 BUCS Champions at BUCS Big Wednesday. Meanwhile the Men's Hockey team were narrowly beaten 3-2 in the their BUCS Championship final held in Nottingham.
