Now recruiting for Intramural Sport Exec roles 2022/23

Description
University of Nottingham's Intramural Sport (IMS) programme is one of the largest in the country. Every year over 3,000 students take part in our leagues and one-day tournaments in 12 different sports. Competitive, social and all based on campus IMS is a great way to stay fit and meet new people. The programme is led by student volunteers – our IMS Exec – who gain invaluable experience in organising, managing and promoting our leagues and events. We're now currently recruiting for our 2022/23 Exec - please read below for the roles available and a job description for each role.

Powerlifting club end 2021 with North Midlands success

Description
At the end of 2021, the University of Nottingham Powerlifting club completed their year of competition with more success to round out a fantastic calendar year. On the 12th December the club participated in the North Midlands Uni Qualifiers that was hosted nearby at Newark Academy. Find out more about how the #GreenandGold fared at the event.

University of Nottingham Students and Alumni selected for 2022 British Canoeing World Class Programme

Description
British Canoeing have announced the squads selected for the World Class Programme for Canoe Sprint, Paracanoe, Canoe Slalom and Extreme Slalom. We are proud of the fact that these squads include current and former members of the #GreenandGold, with three current University of Nottingham students and four alumni selected.

David Ross Sports Village hosts BUCS Squash Individuals

Description
On the second weekend of December, the University of Nottingham were pleased to host the BUCS (British Universities & Colleges Sport) Squash Individual Championships at our David Ross Sports Village, alongside the Park Squash and Rackets Club. We were delighted to see so many athletes from the University of Nottingham Squash Club representing the #GreenandGold over the course of the weekend.

Volleyball Headliner announced for 2 February

Description
After the success of our first Headliner event in 18 months this past November, we are delighted to announce that the series will return to the University of Nottingham campus on Wednesday 2 February. The Headliner event series showcases the university competing at the very highest level of university sport and what better way to start the 2022 term than with a double header of volleyball action?! Both our Men's and Women's teams will take to the court in BUCS fixtures against the University of Northumbria in back to back games that are sure to bring highly exciting competitive action.

First Ever Recipients of the Martin Wynne-Jones Bursary Revealed

Description
The Martin Wynne-Jones bursary aims to support students who have demonstrated and made a significant contribution to Rugby Union at the University of Nottingham. The bursary is in memory of former University of Nottingham Finance Director Martin Wynne-Jones. Worth up to a total value of £500, this bursary is open to all University of Nottingham students.

Gymnastics club bounce back into competition

Description
At the end of last month, the University of Nottingham Gymnastics club took part in competitive action for the first time since the pandemic. Travelling to Loughborough for the University Gymnastics Cup, the club had male and female gymnasts taking part over two days of competition. The weekend was a thoroughly fantastic success for the #GreenandGold with the University of Nottingham topping the university standings.

University of Nottingham Student continues brilliant run of form on Exchange!

Description
Lauren McNeil, who is currently on exchange in Kelowna, has helped the University of British Columbia (UBC) Okanagan Heat smash another competition. McNeil capped off a remarkable season as she won the silver medal at the 2021 U SPORTS Championships, hosted by the Laval Rouge et Or, on Saturday afternoon at the Plains of Abraham, and led for much of the race throughout the eight-kilometre course.

Tennis pairs medal at BUCS Doubles Championships

Description
Last weekend, University of Nottingham tennis players competed in the BUCS Doubles Championships at Warwick University. The University entered the most pairs of any institution to the event highlighting the incredible amount of talent that currently competes for the #GreenandGold. University of Nottingham teams were entered into both the men's and women's draws, competing in a knockout format that consisted of 32 doubles pairs for each.
