Just Play | University of Nottingham Sport offer students a flexible approach to trying new sports

Description
The University of Nottingham Sport will rebrand the Engage programme into the Just Play initiative, which is designed to inspire students to take part in sport without any commitment.Students are always trying to fit everything in when they first start university, which can be a challenge, so here at Nottingham it is now easier to take part and try new things.Our Just Play programme offers a flexible way for undergraduate and postgraduate students to try out new sports and meet new friends in a fun and friendly environment.

Student Sport and Fitness Membership - now on sale!

Description
Our Early Bird Student Sport and Fitness Membership is now available to purchase for new and returning students, providing the perfect opportunity for you to get organised ahead of Welcome Week and beat the queues. If you are in Nottingham over the summer, and studying with us for the 2021/22 academic year, then this is the option for you. University of Nottingham excel in Powerlifting Competition

Description
Students from the University of Nottingham Powerlifting club had the opportunity to take part in the Fred Sterry Classic, a North Midlands divisional competition, that helped many members achieve the qualifying totals needed to compete at UniChamps and upcoming Junior Nationals. The event was held in at Horncastle Powerlifting Club on 17th July 2021.

Green and Gold achievements showcased at the 2021 BUCS Awards

Description
University of Nottingham were shortlisted for several awards at the 2018 BUCS Awards Dinner, hosted virtually on Wednesday 14th July. The University of Nottingham Sport has excelled across the board once again and to be shortlisted for 7 out of 12 awards is a testament to the hard work and dedication of students, staff and volunteers at the University of Nottingham.

University of Nottingham take home the gold in BUCS Canoe Polo

Description
Students from the University of Nottingham Canoe Polo club had the opportunity to take part in the 2021 BUCS Canoe Polo Championships. With the normal two-day event where four leagues are present tailored to fit the current COVID guidance for sports competitions, the event was held in Nottingham at Holme Pierrepoint, the National Water Sports Centre, on 3rd July 2021.

IMS All Stars 2021

IMS All Stars 2021

Description
On 19 June, the University of Nottingham BUCS teams played the star players of the 2021 Intra Mural Sports (IMS) programme in the inaugural University of Nottingham's IMS All-stars. The University of Nottingham Sport run one of the largest IMS programmes in the country with over 3,000 students taking part every year.With several students from the BUCS and IMS programmes, the event saw 8 fixtures take place across David Ross Sports Village and Highfields sports Complex.

University of Nottingham crowned University of the Year at 2021 in LTA Tennis Awards

Description
Thursday 24th June saw the 2021 LTA Tennis Awards which celebrate the achievements of outstanding tennis volunteers, coaches, officials, venues and players in Britain. During the evening, the University of Nottingham was crowned a national winner at the prestigious LTA Tennis Awards, when they won the University of the Year Award after the Tennis Club was recognised for its inspirational work in adapting to COVID-19 restrictions and showing sustained innovation through lockdown.

University of Nottingham wins big at BUCS Outdoor Archery Championship

Description
It was great to see a number of University of Nottingham students take part in the BUCS Outdoor Archery Championships.Taking place at Lilleshall National Sports Centre, the home of Archery GB, the Outdoor Championships are perfect for novice archers to compete and develop their skills. The event was ran in line with guidance from Archery GB and subject to local and national restrictions regarding Covid-19.

Nottingham Games 2021 will be played behind closed doors

Description
We are extremely excited to announce that the "Nottingham Games" will take place on Sunday 13 June at the NTU Clifton Campus and Nottingham University Park Campus. The Nottingham Games will be an exciting one day competition, where students from both universities, will get the opportunity to take part in a full day of competitive fixtures. We recognise that 2020/21 has been an extremely challenging time for our Sports Clubs, and we are delighted to create this one day event with The University of Nottingham.
