Primary Care
We are a multi-disciplinary centre of over 100 people, including practising GPs, other health professionals, psychologists, statisticians, research and support staff.
We do internationally leading research to improve the health and primary health care of individuals and communities. We welcome and train postgraduates to be the best researchers of tomorrow, and have expertise in randomised controlled trials, observational studies, epidemiology, economics and qualitative methods.
We teach across all years of the undergraduate courses. We lead training of medical students in clinical and professional development, chronic illness in the community, clinical skills, and their placements with over 200 general practices. We have a dedicated Primary Care Education Unit which helps organise the primary care placements and teaching for the School of Medicine.
