During Sustainability Action Week, we have teamed up with Nottingham City Transport (NCT) to offer a free day ticket to all staff.
The UK Government reports that transport is the largest emitting sector of Green House Gas emissions, producing 24% of the UK’s total emissions in 2020. At the university, emissions from travel accounts for 10% of our indirect CO2 emissions. Thankfully travel is an area where we can all make some changes that can have a big impact, not just on the planet, but on your pocket too.
Free NCT bus ticket for all staff
NCT is the largest public transport operator in Nottingham, servicing both University Park and Jubilee campuses. They service both University Park (Orange 34) and Jubilee campuses (Pink 28 and 30 stop on Wollaton Road). To support staff commuting more sustainably this week and beyond, NCT are offering a free, unlimited, 24 hour ticket to all staff at the university.
The university has many other schemes to help staff and students reduce their carbon emissions from travel. Whether you choose to walk, cycle, train, tram, bus or drive to campus, there will be something for you, from discounted travel passes, to cycling facilities and offers, to sharing driving costs through Liftshare. If you aren’t sure what’s available to you, find out more on our travel webpages or complete a Personalised Travel Plan for a more tailored solution.
