The Tram - Completing the Finishing Touches

You will have noticed that the construction of the tram route serving the Queens Medical Centre and The University of Nottingham is rapidly nearing an
end, with the final touches being made to the landscaping, lighting, fencing and signage whilst the network is being prepared for testing and
commissioning.
Tram-02-2015

We have been working closely with the construction team and the City Council to manage the construction programme and minimise the impact on the University’s day-to-day operations.

Whilst there have been issues, we are pleased to see works coming to an end along Science Road and University Boulevard and we expect to see tram testing taking place in the coming weeks and months ahead of the line going ‘live’ and open to passengers.

The Ningbo Friendship Bridge makes for an important new gateway for visitors from the City Centre to both our Medical School and the University Park
campus. You can see the detailed design of that section of the route on NET's website.

Works over the coming weeks around the University will include; the reinstatement of the pond at the south end of the Arts Centre, adjacent to the tram line and South Entrance, the landscaping of Science Road and the area along the tram route around the Medical School, Ningbo Friendship bridge and The Arts Centre and to complete the works, the reinstatement of the University’s perimeter fencing.

NET have produced specific information on the disruption to the Lenton and Dunkirk areas during the tram works.
