From the 22 November – 5 December, university halls were competing to see how much power they could save and how well they could recycle.
The results are in, and we are delighted to announce that Melton Hall has won and receives £500! Congratulations also to Southwell Hall and Ancaster Hall who achieved 2nd and 3rd place respectively. Thank you to our go! Switch Off Champions for the work they have done to make their halls more sustainable and well done to everyone who made changes to save energy and recycle better – keep it up!
The go! Switch Off Halls Competition is part of our go! Switch Off campaign to encourage everyone to save energy and water this winter. The competition may be over, but we still need to be working together to save energy. If you are leaving campus for Christmas remember to:
-
Turn off all unnecessary lighting
-
Switch off all equipment and devices instead of leaving them in standby mode. Don’t forget to empty and turn off any fridges!
-
Turn down the heating where possible.
