Green Gown Awards now open for entries

Green Gown Awards 2016 logo with closing dateThe University's Sustainability Team is looking for colleagues to apply for this year's EAUC Green Gown Awards.

Now in their 12th year, the Green Gown Awards recognise the exceptional sustainability initiatives being undertaken by universities and colleges across the UK. The Awards grow every year and have become established as the most prestigious recognition of best practice within the further and higher education sector.

With 15 categories ranging from Research to Community and Facilities & Services (includes laboratories, libraries, IT, sports facilities etc), make this year the year that you apply!

Entry is free and Stage 1 applications close at noon on Wednesday 8 June 2016.

Last year, four projects were shortlisted, with ENACTUS winning the Employment and Enterprise category for successfully setting up ethical businesses both here in Nottingham and around the world. The University was also shortlisted in three other categories - more than any other higher education institution - and went on to be highly commended in two of those.

More information about the awards and previous winners can be found at the Green Gown Awards website.

If you have a project or scheme which you think might be worthy of an award, the Sustainability Team wants to hear about it and can provide assistance in the application process.
