#beastsofUoN Photographic Competition

Calling all keen photographers, Instagrammers and smartphone owners!coot resize

In a #beastsofUoN first, we are pleased to announce the launch of the University of Nottingham Photographic Competition 2016.

We want to inspire staff, students and visitors from the local community to explore the University of Nottingham’s great outdoor spaces and reveal how enriching and inspiring our campuses can be. We are keen to see images of landscapes across the University, as well as images of some of the #beastsofUoN that call it home.

The competition will have five categories:

  1. Celebrating the #beastsofUoN and campus wildlife: will you capture your favourite animal on its own, in a group, or interacting with the humans of campus?
  2. Abstract and details: this can be a close-up of an animal, a plant, or an abstract view of the grounds. This is one for the creative photographers!
  3. Social Media smartphone: we expect this to be a fiercely contested category. Submit your photos via Twitter (@UoNSustain) or Instagram (@UoNSustainability) using the hashtag #beastsofUoNphotocomp. Only images taken on a smartphone are permitted. The use of apps for photo editing is permitted.
  4. Young Photographer (6-15 years): this one is for the young visitors to campus.
  5. International Campus: this category is to celebrate the biodiversity of our campuses in Asia.

The competition will be open to all later in the year with prizes available in each category. Keen participants are invited to consider photos they might like to enter in the competition. A photo entered into the competition can be taken at any time, and entries are not limited to original media taken during the competition period.
