The University of Nottingham is encouraging drivers and passengers to share their car travel for Liftshare Week 2016, saving on cash and carbon!
The University provides a free-to-use website specifically for staff, which shows who else is going your way so you can find potential car sharers. Why not take a look during Liftshare Week (3-9 October)?
Staff can get involved whether or not they have a car. Those in the car can then decide to either share the driving, or make a contribution toward the petrol – and as no profit is being made, there’s no impact on motor insurance. And you don’t have to do it every day.
Liftshare estimate that regular car sharers save on average £80 a month – nearly £1000 per year! It’s also an easy way to reduce your carbon footprint.
To celebrate Liftshare Week, anyone who sends a ‘request to share’ between 28 September and 12 October 2016 will be entered into a prize draw to win £250. This applies whether you’re an existing member or trying it for the first time.
The more University staff that have registered a journey, the greater the chance of finding someone to car share with, so it’s worth encouraging your colleagues to join too.
