Global Evidence Network 4 Health

Launch of new UoN Global Evidence for Health network kicks off with 2 talks

October saw the launch of a new research network the University of Nottingham Global Evidence Network for Health (UoN-GEN4Health). The University is unique in hosting ‘Evidence Centres’ in China and the UK, with links to JBI and Cochrane and covering animal as well as human health. The network seeks to capitalise on this unique position and to foster coordination and collaboration between all interested stakeholders.

To kick things off Professor Hywel Williams delivered a thought provoking talk entitled,  “Are Dermatology Systematic Reviews Spinning out of Control”? If you missed the talk, you can catch up online and listen to what he had to say.

October 20 was World Evidence Based Healthcare Day Event and this year’s topic was‘The role of evidence in an Infodemic’. Dr Chris Zielinski, from the University of Winchester gave a talk to the network on, “Is Better Evidence All We Need? An Infodemiological Perspective”. In today’s world of information overload, misinformation and disinformation getting to the quality evidence can be challenging. You can also catch up on Dr Zielinski's talk online.

Please get in touch with the network at ms-GEN4health@nottingham.ac.uk if you have any questions or suggestion for future events.
