Rare Disease Day 2025

RDfacts2025

This year, February 28th will mark the eighteenth Rare Disease Day. Since 2008, Rare Disease Day has been observed every year on 28 February (or 29 February in a leap year, the rarest day). It is a globally-coordinated movement on rare diseases, working towards equity in social opportunity, healthcare, and access to diagnosis and therapies for people living with a rare disease.

Around the world, events are organized by patients, clinicians and any person interested in raising awareness for rare diseases.

In Nottingham, the RECORDER group uses health data science and large-scale data to improve the lives of people with rare autoimmune rheumatic diseases and other rare diseases. The RECORDER team are participating in #Light up for Rare which coincides with Nottingham's Light Night festival.
