RECORDER team's Guided Imagery Project in the Vasculitis UK autumn newsletter

Vasculitis UK, the charity supporting and advocating for patients with Vasculitis, recently included a feature on a joint project they funded and undertook in collaboration with the RECORDER team. The project, “A programme of guided imagery for managing vasculitis,” was led by Alice Muir who developed a programme based on work by Martin Rossman in Guided Imagery for self-healing. Alice delivered the ten-week programme with support from colleagues in the RECORDER team as well as with volunteer-led support from Vasculitis UK.

Scroll to page 20 & 21 for a report of the project and lots of wonderful feedback from the participants (including some of the inspired artwork they produced).

Alice says

Our Team has thoroughly enjoyed working with Vasculitis UK and 14 patient partners on this feasibility project to develop a guided imagery programme to help people cope with and manage illness. We are now planning a second phase of the project to train participants from this initial phase to facilitate and run future programmes.
