Nottingham Green Festival is the UK’s biggest one day, free, urban Green Festival! They are looking for fun and friendly people, who are passionate about sustainability, to join our growing team of stewards and coordinators.
What is it?
The festival is a place for everyone to learn, explore and try the latest in everything environmentally friendly and ethical, whilst having lots of fun in the beautiful setting of the Arboretum Park in Nottingham. Last year was their 30th anniversary, which is over 30 years of green. There is something for the whole community to get involved in, including live music, vegan food, arts and crafts, campaign stalls, knowledge garden, info for action, green businesses and so much more. Plus, it is a family friendly event with a dedicated family zone.
This is all happening on Sunday 8 September, 12 – 6pm.
Who organises and funds it?
Nottingham Green Festival is organised by grass roots community-based volunteers; it is not-for-profit and receives no statutory funding. The event runs to a tight budget, so we rely on generous people to donate.
How can I get involved?
Come and volunteer on the day! There are 3 different roles available:
- Helping setting up (9am-12pm): helping direct stall holders to their stall locations; putting up gazebos and signs; other general set-up activities
- Stewarding (12pm-6pm): Patrolling the festival to make sure everything is running smoothly!
- Helping clearing down (6pm-7pm): Helping to direct people out of the park, and packing away signs and gazebos; other general clearing-up activities
All day volunteers are needed, but any support throughout the day is welcome. To say thank you for getting involved, all day volunteers will receive 2 food vouchers (worth £5 each) and volunteers who help one time slot will receive 1 food voucher. Plus, you'll have a great range of delicious vegan food vendors to spend these on!
